Uniform force: During installation, avoid hitting only one side or using excessive force. Instead, apply even force to prevent tilting or cracking of the bearings. ‌

The assembly steps of bearings mainly include the following key links:

Cleaning and drying bearings: Firstly, clean the bearings to remove rust proof oil. High volatility solvents such as refined kerosene and naphthol can be soaked and cleaned by hand, and then

refined kerosene can be removed with gasoline, ethanol, etc. After cleaning, the bearings need to be dried to ensure that there is no residual moisture. ‌

Encapsulation of lubricating grease: Encapsulate an appropriate amount of lubricating grease inside the bearing to ensure that the lubricating grease is fully applied to the rolling parts. For ball

bearings, a syringe or vinyl plastic bag can be used to align the inner ring rolling surface and encapsulate the lubricating grease. For roller bearings, lubricating grease can be applied to the

outer diameter surface of the roller, and the roller can be rotated with fingertips to allow the grease to penetrate into the inner ring.

Trial operation: Trial operation is an important step to ensure stable operation of bearings after installation. During the trial operation, the temperature of the bearing will gradually reach a

stable state. For bearings lubricated with oil and gas or oil mist, it is recommended to maintain a speed of 2000-3000 revolutions per minute for about 30 minutes and gradually increase it to

the working speed. For grease lubricated bearings, the temperature will rise rapidly during trial operation and slowly stabilize after reaching its peak.

Assembly of bearings: When assembling bearings on the spindle, two methods are usually used: hydraulic press in or hot installation insertion. When the hydraulic press is pressed in, it is

necessary to calculate the pressing force and use the inner ring pressing tool. During hot installation insertion, the bearing is heated and inserted into the shaft using the principle of thermal

expansion and contraction, with the heating temperature generally controlled below 100 degrees. ‌

Fixed inner and outer rings: Tighten the inner ring side with a trapezoidal sleeve or precision bearing nut, and tighten the front cover on the outer ring side with bolts. When fixing, attention

should be paid to avoiding damaging the insulation design of the bearing to prevent the oil film from being broken down by the shaft voltage, which affects lubrication and bearing life. ‌

Precautions and techniques for bearing installation:

Uniform force: During installation, avoid hitting only one side or using excessive force. Instead, apply even force to prevent tilting or cracking of the bearings. ‌

Temperature control: For bearings installed with heating, the temperature should be controlled below 100 degrees to avoid excessive temperature that may cause bearing annealing and affect

hardness and wear resistance. ‌

Check the fit size: Before installation, check whether the bearing model is correct and whether the fit size with the rotor shaft is appropriate. For new bearings, it is also necessary to check the

radial clearance and axial clearance. ‌

Control oil quantity: Control an appropriate amount of oil in the bearing chamber to avoid excessive oil quantity causing rolling element slippage or poor lubrication.

By following the above steps and precautions, the correct installation and stable operation of the bearing can be ensured.

The difference between tapered roller bearings and cylindrical roller bearings

Conical roller bearings: They can withstand both radial and axial loads, especially when subjected to larger radial loads, and their performance is superior to other thrust bearings. It can transmit unidirectional axial loads. If it is necessary to transmit axial loads in the opposite direction, another tapered roller bearing symmetrically installed with it is required.
